The government has changed the way student loans are repaid from 2016.

The requirement for employers to provide an “itemised pay statement” is set out in Section 8 of the Employment Rights Act 1996. It says: “An employee has the right to be given by his employer, at or before the time at which any payment of wages or salary is made to him, a written itemised pay statement.”

The law on workplace pensions has changed. Every employer with at least one member of staff now has new duties, including enrolling those who are eligible into a workplace pension scheme and contributing towards it. This is called automatic enrolment.
